5 years ago today we came out to Trapper Creek to spend Easter with you! The kids were so excited to try to find eggs hidden out in your front yard, of course we had to set boundaries lol. I believe me and mom stuff around 100 eggs with candy and money for the kids to find. I asked you before we came out what dessert you wanted me to bring and without hesitation you requested carrot cake. I was excited because I had never made one before but nervous at the same time because I knew it was your favorite. We got there and of course I rushed in to show you the cake. Your eyes lit up and said it was perfect, I chuckled and said just wait grandpa you haven’t tried it yet LOL. We ate, found eggs, took lots of pictures and it was finally the time for dessert. The time you and I had been waiting for, to try the cake! You got the first piece (of course The King always does, right??) and took a bite and you said it was the best homemade carrot cake you’ve had. That made me so happy! This Easter I will be making a carrot cake for you Grandpa! You are loved and missed so much. That twinkle in your eye, your smirk, your stories and your love and hugs you gave so well. We love you Grandpa!!
